July 3-6, 2010 International Institute of Integral Human Sciences Conference
in Montreal, Quebec.
Sunday July 4 - Session #6
"Major Changes in Near-Death Studies: A New Model"
2 pm to 6 pm
The entire field of near-death studies changed three years ago. Now
it is changing again. No longer tied to the myths of "tunnels" and "amazing
grace," a new dynamic has revealed itself - showing how intensity (not
length or type of scenario) triggers a process innate within the human body,
a process of recreation that is every bit as important as procreation. We
are programmed for this: to evolve into ever higher states of
consciousness....all of us!
Monday July 5 - Session #1
"Transformations of Consciousness - A Biological Imperative"
10 am to 12 pm
Covering 32 years of research, Dr. Atwater challenges what we think
we know about the near-death experience and its pattern of physiological and
psychological aftereffects. She gives us a new way of looking at near-death
scenarios, the coming of "otherworldly visitors," layers of the afterlife,
the importance of both darkness and light (heaven and hell). She reveals
the triggering pattern that sets off our recreative system, and what that
indicates globally about brain development, higher states of mind, and how
we evolve as humans.

- classical model isn't classical - tunnel are not signature features
- what is the definition of an NDE? Give new stats
- visitors come when death is near - why left? Most visits are verified
- many levels to Other Side (layer-cake) - both heaven & hell are real, borderlands

- correlations within the brainmind assembly - heart/limbic connection
- temporal lobe libraries - many worlds concept
- death flash/light flash (lightning)
- other cultures - no life reviews (group consensus vs. individualism) - the brain
- synchronicity, sensitivity (why many become psychics/mediums afterward)
